Throwing in the towel.

I've had a bad feeling about this night for months. It's not over yet but... it's over. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong in the next hour or so, but the little optimism I had faded before it was dark here in California, and by now I'm not even going to bother keeping my fingers crossed. If there's anything to be taken from this, it's the knowledge that ours is a world full of idiots, from the poor hillbillies who consistently put the power in the hands of a party that exists to serve the rich, to the lightweights who thought that Kerry was The One, to the jackasses in Europe who think Bush is the greatest monster since Stalin, to the jackasses in the Middle East who are responsible for all this, to the ignorant, superstitious fuckwits who created the religions that are responsible for a good three quarters of the hatred in the world.

I hate to say this, but since about four o'clock this afternoon, I've been thinking about leaving the country if Bush wins. The only problem is that there's really nowhere to go. Also, the more I think about it, the more I'm glad that Kerry lost. Don't get me wrong, I'd have preffered him to Bush, but I can't help but feel a sort of sour grapes thing, like, anyone lame enough to lose to George W. Bush doesn't deserve to be president. Which is probably true, I think, but it's hardly a solution. Ah, fuck it. I'm going to bed.
