RIP, Eric Wright

Y'know, I'm not a political person, but I saw this graffiti on the train that said, "Fuck tha Police," and I thought, Yeah, right on. That makes sense, ya know? Seriously, these guys do a very difficult, very dangerous, barely appreciated job. The least you can do is fuck 'em. Think of it as a civic--well, not "duty"; that would be wrong, if it was obligated or something, but, you know, an act of community volunteerism. Guys, too, could give 'em blowjobs or something; it's not gay if the guy giving it doesn't get a boner--it's just doin' a fella a favor, saying Thank You. I'm all for fucking the police, though I must state again that I am not for it being required by law, nor am not 100% sold on the idea of giving police the power to make any citizen have sex with them on command. I mean, this isn't Russia, for fuck's sake.

Return of the Christs

Hello, kiddies. In lieu of something entertaining, here are four hot-off-the-computer recordings from everyone's favorite band, Sixpence None the Richer. Or, rather, the Fucking Christs. One is an instrumental, one is a reworking of a beloved Christs classic, and the other two are also songs, more or less. Enjoy them at your peril.

Blah

Hi, friends. Rob Diener here. Very tired. Went to Chicago on Friday for a wedding. It was nice. Midwesterners are people, too (almost). Here's a poem.

Chicago

Hog eater of the world
Sandwich maker, stacker of meat
Baker of pizzas and the Nation's Napkin Dispenser
Beefy, husky, flatulent
City of the Big Fatsos

They tell me you are stocky and I believe them, for I have seen your painted women underneath the gas lamps
eating kielbasa

Okay, enough of that (the poem is over). The wedding was nice. Always good to see people and then to meet other people. But a huge and costly hassle nonetheless. I'd tell you more about it, but the trip was pretty much adventure-free, which is fine. All that matters is that it was a good time. Enough about that.

Content-wise, this site's been bad lately. I blame the heat, as well as other things. I've not been writing, really. I've got 4 and a half new songs (well, 3 new ones and one and a half re-recordings, but I don't know if it's in anyone's interest that I put them up here.

Ah, this was hardly worth the effort. Bye for now.
